How to stay motivated over time.

Sustaining motivation can be tough under the best of circumstances. So how can you stay motivated over a longer period of time?

1. Set a goal and visualize it down to the most minute detail.

2. Make a list of the reasons you want to accomplish the goal. In our busy, distracting world, it’s easy to get distracted by competing priorities, by creating a list, you can stay on track by focusing on the benefits of achieving your goal.

3. Break the goal down into smaller pieces and set intermediary targets — and rewards – to help you stay on track.

Focus on consistency.

Consistency is a significant consideration when looking at reaching any lifestyle goals you may have, but also help to turn those goals into longer-term habits that form part of your day-to-day routine. The importance of being consistent and taking small steps every single day allows you to reap the benefits associated with that action while also helping to form an ongoing routine.
